Joe Biden is seeing a major downfall in his approval rating at a time when Democrats have already lost the House in the midterm elections.
Now that Republicans control the lower chamber, they also hold the power to pass or block legislation that could impact Biden’s approval ratings to a large extent.
If Republicans successfully stop the Biden agenda, Biden’s chances to maintain his approval ratings will only worsen, which could potentially impact his 2024 election bid.
Multiple polls have established Biden ould might both Trump and DeSantis in a hypothetical 2024 presidential poll. Still, the recent dip in Biden’s approval rating can help Republican candidates in making major gains against the president.

Trump, DeSantis Going Neck to Neck for GOP Nomination
Meanwhile, the same Quinnipiac polls also surveyed Americans’ preferences about the next Republican presidential candidate. Nearly 44% of Americans noted they do not want to see Florida Governor Ron DeSantis running for the presidency, while only 37% want him to run.
Among Republicans, 60% of people claimed they wanted to see DeSantis run for the White House in 2024, while only 24% of Republicans opposed DeSantis’ presidential run. Just like DeSantis, an overwhelming majority of Republicans also want to see Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race.Â
Reportedly, 62% of Republicans think Trump should run for the White House in 2024, while 27% of Republicans oppose his reelection ambitions.
However, most Americans prefer DeSantis over Trump in the presidential race, but Republicans are evenly split between the two candidates at the moment.
Almost 43% of Americans stated they would prefer DeSantis over Trump, while 29% want to support Trump. On the other hand, 44% of Republicans back Trump, while an equal number of Republicans support DeSantis as well.Â
In another poll by Emerson College, Trump won the support of 55% of Republicans, while DeSantis got the backing of only 25% of voters. This poll encouraged Trump to lash out at his critics.
On Tuesday, Trump noted Republicans in Name Only (RINO), anti-Trump Republicans, radical Democrats, and fake media outlets should see the latest polls of the Emerson College, which shows his dominance in the Republican Party.
Although Trump has already announced his 2024 presidential election campaign, DeSantis is yet to announce his ambitions.
