Of all that transpires in Heaven and on Earth, few events are less surprising than politicians and leading lights acting shamelessly and immorally. That said, I’d prefer the former if I had to choose between publicly known flaws and hidden ones. I don’t want either, mind, but if one has to choose, the better option is the known scoundrel. Kristi Noem is seemingly a lecher and a liar. She should resign — she is not what she told voters she was.

Married Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has engaged in a years-long affair with longtime Donald Trump adviser Corey Lewandowski, multiple sources told The Post Friday….
[T]he two have been less than discreet about their relationship, with one source recalling them making out at a hotel bar during the 2021 Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Fla.
“I remember it was so absurdly blatant and public,” said the person, who recalled Noem and Lewandowski getting “handsy” at the bar of the Hyatt Regency Orlando with between 100 and 200 others around.
“It wasn’t like 2 a.m.,” the source said. “It isn’t like we caught them at some dive bar miles away. It’s a lobby bar where everyone is staying and so there’s a bajillion political operatives and journalists and electeds around. I remember I saw it with my own eyes and a couple other people saw it and the blatantness was absurd.”
“This has been a known open thing and we’ve all been waiting for it to blow up at some point,” the person added.

This may sound odd of me to say, but Trump, the man Kristi Noem recently heralded as her pick for the Republican nominee, is truth in advertising. No man, woman, or river otter was ever unaware of his extra-marital predilections or amoral business dealings. If Trump is honest about one thing, it’s that he’s a dog. Kristi Noem has pretended to be in a loving marriage with her husband while raising their kids in the governor’s mansion. Reports now reveal that her husband moved out two years ago after her infidelity became known to him. Lewandowski, for his part, has had credible harassment charges leveled against him besides his association with Noem, all while he’s been married to a 9/11 widow.
For those who assume the worst of politicians’ morals and want only for conservative results, Noem fails to deliver there as well. A squish (at best) on limiting the spread of transgender ideology, Noem has a proven record of favoring progressive health care corporations instead of protecting the children in her state. She has no business in office — neither for her personal indiscretion nor her governance. A striking woman, Noem will doubtlessly find unsolicited defenders, but apologists thinking with their nethers is only fitting for a governor that has reportedly done the same.
